It's all coming together....for the almost Jessup's!

Well, it has been way too long since I have written a blog on our house, wedding, and everything else that we have had going on. I'm sorry!!!! There have been so many changes since the last post, I am probably a month or two away from move in, so that will give me about two months of living there before Jordan moves in, in June!!! Enjoy the pictures of our southern home.

We have railings on our stairs.

Our support beams were boxed in with cedar boards in the living room.

Old living room fire place.

Beams in the living room.
The beams are stained!!!!

Fire places done and beams are stained!!!
They look amazing, especially the fireplace. I'm going to tell you a little story about how we got the fireplaces. Over Christmas, we were in Lowes and we were talking about Jordan doing the fireplaces, we walked by a guy that had mortar mix on a huge cart and thought that he may do fire places. I went and asked, he said sure, he came down the next day and gave use a quote, and five days later we had our fireplaces completed. His name is Jaimes, and we would recommend him for anything!!
Another view of the living room.
These are our cedar mantles. There was a tree.... Wayyyyyy back at the beginning of the demolition in the front yard, we cut it down, and Jordan made our mantles out of it.

Love these!

Can you tell what our paint color is... Urban Putty.

That old floor looks good.

It's amazing how it cleans up, a clear coat of poly still has to go down, but it looks great already.

Here is a before and after.

We are so blessed and excited to see the finish line. We got our cabinets and countertops ordered last week, they should be here towards the beginning of March. We will then get the floors for the kitchen, and work on all things outside. We are getting super excited for the move in date, and even more excited (at least I am) about getting married in four short months. Looking back, we could not have imagined that we would be remodeling a house, planning a wedding, working full time, and Jordan in school part time at 25. I don't think we could add much more to our list, but we like to think that if we can make it through this remodeling, then, we will survive anything. We already feel like our marriage is going to be so very blessed in this house, and we of course could not have done anything without the work of our families who we owe everything to. We love you guys, and can't wait to be The Jessups in our own southern home.

And it's officially in the paper!! Can't wait to get married! Countdown is upon us!!! June 20, 2015!! #joiningthejessups

Tis the season..... Weddings... And.. Races.. And remodeling.... OH MY!

Well it certainly has been too long since my last post. Jordan and I have had so much going on in the past month. I have been in two weddings and Jordan in one; I completed my second half-marathon in savannah, Georgia, and we have contined to work on the house while Jordan has been hunting. Oh yea, this all on top of the end of the semester craziness as a teacher. I have also recently given my first professional paid presentation as a historian. Keep your fingers crossed that I can keep doing that type of work! This post of course is going to be a ton of different items as he title entails, please enjoy!!!

Well, the first wedding I was in was Mrs. Brittany Fulmer Conaway. She married the legendary Nick Conaway from Stokes County. We still laugh each time we talk about me saying "you're dating Nick Conaway, the Nick Conaway... The baseball pitcher?" I am so thankful and blessed to have had this girl by my side for a decade as high school best friends! Volleyball brought us together, and nothing has torn us apart!

This was the rehearsal dinner with Brit and her bridesmaids!
Brit and I at the venue, Steele Crest.
Wedding day, October 18, 2014. I absolutely love this picture!!!

The very next weekend, Jordan and I were both in a wedding at Moore Springs Manor. Two of our best friends, Corey Norman and now Desi Davis Norman were getting married. Jordan and Corey have been best friends since they played ball together at Surry Community College. Luckily, I was blessed enough that Desi and I clicked immediately and became best friends! She is such a phenomenal soul and would do anything for the ones she loves. This was Jordan and I at the rehearsal dinner.

Wedding day!!! Love her!!

After the wedding weekends, the following weekend was Halloween and I didn't stray from my historical background.

Meet rosie the rivetor!!

Following Halloween weekend I ventured into my second Half-marathon race in Savannah, Georgia.
After all the knee troubles I had earlier this year, I was thankful to complete the race I under 2 hours and 15 mins. It's quite a bit slower than last year, but I still finished in the top 25 percent in the half!
My mom and my sister Bethany came with me to the race!!!
And my lovely cousin Tracey was my hostess and driver for the weekend!! Boy am I thankful they live in Georgia right now.
My cousin Hanna came out again this year and watched me race!! Isn't she beautiful?

On Sunday, I completed a 5k as well to complete a rock n roll remix challenge. I ran 16.2 miles in 2 days, it was a successful running weekend. I finished I. The top 200 in the 5k out of about 2000.

Oh, and did I mention we took engagement pictures during this crazy hectic time? Well we did and a family friend took them for us! He did an amazing job! We were thrilled!!!

This is Jordan's favorite because it has his truck in it!
I love the baseball ones because of all the years Jordan played.
Love this too! The sign has some of the old floor boards from the house!
Pumpkins!
Oh hh and the infamous hunting picture!... And yes, the hunt is over!
So stinking happy!!

Can't wait to be a Jessup.
Love him!
Appalachian State quilt made the picture!!
Fall sure does make great pictures.
❤️
We're cute.
I sure do miss seeing him play ball, but he will always be my ace.
We're walking away together, forever.
These were taken down and Jordan's uncle Joel's farm.
💓
Yep, save he date yall!!
He loves me.
He loves her, of course, but better than that, he chose her. Day after  day, choice. That was the thing. I sure am glad you chose me, and God chose us.
Can't wait until June 20, 2015. #joiningthejessups

So, while we had all of that fun life stuff going on, we also had TONS going on at the house. We have had insulation put in, Sheetrock up, and the molding is going in as I'm writing.
Insulation, we sure are going to be thankful for this during the winter.
Insulation.
The bedroom.
More insulation.
Ahhhhh, we have walls!!!
The beams!!!
Sheetrock in the dining room.
Jordan's man room.
The guest bathroom.

So happy with how it turned out. Oh hh did I mention, WE HAVE ELECTRICITY!!!
The archway into the office area.
More of Jordan's room with lights.
More of the kitchen.
We have a graded yard!
With straw.

So, it'll probably only be a few more days before I'll do another post. Most likely over thanksgiving. Everything is going quickly now, and I am so excited for the future in this house. Jordan and I are ready to start painting, and can't wait to actually move in and have people over. Thank you for stopping by and seeing the progress on our future southern home. And from the Future Jessups, Happy early Thanksgiving. Psalms 100.
